How two experienced mariners decided to bridge the gap between Kerala's aspiring sailors and the Merchant Navy
How It All Started
The story of Mallu Navigators began from the struggles faced by two dedicated Merchant Navy aspirants — Abishek S and Alan Antony.
During their preparation journey for joining the Merchant Navy, they realized there was a serious lack of proper guidance, mentorship, and interview training for aspiring cadets. Without the right support system, their path became extremely difficult and challenging. Despite facing multiple obstacles, they continued working hard and eventually succeeded in clearing Merchant Navy sponsorship interviews.
However, during the medical examination stage, Alan Antony was declared medically unfit due to colour blindness. This moment changed everything. Instead of giving up, Alan Antony, together with his friend Abishek Saju, decided to build something meaningful for future aspirants — a platform that could provide the right guidance they themselves once struggled to find.
That vision became Mallu Navigators — a community dedicated to helping Merchant Navy aspirants prepare confidently and professionally for sponsorship interviews and their maritime careers.
Their mission was simple: “The struggles we faced should never be repeated for future cadets.” Today, Mallu Navigators has grown into one of the leading Merchant Navy guidance communities in Kerala, with mentors from top shipping companies and maritime campuses across India.
One of the biggest highlights of Mallu Navigators is its unlimited one-on-one mock interview system. Students receive continuous interview practice sessions conducted by cadets already sponsored by top shipping companies. This gives aspirants real exposure to the actual interview environment and significantly improves their confidence and performance.
The mentors personally guide every student throughout the preparation process, ensuring they are fully prepared for sponsorship interviews. At Mallu Navigators, results speak louder than words. The success of sponsored cadets and their achievements can be seen through the growing community and student results shared on the platform.
